Social Responsibility

With the spirit embodied in our mottos, "love for our neighbors" and "respect for life," we fulfill our social roles and responsibilities.

Pulmuone is leading the way of realizing LOHAS Living, pursuing the well-being of humanity and the sustainability of the Earth's environment.

Mr. Won Kyung-sun, the originator of the Pulmuone spirit as well as a farmer and pacifist, was the first Korean entrepreneur who paid attention to the issue of global famine and began charity work. Mr. Won served as an instructor for Pulmuone's newly hired employees late into his 90s. Whenever he lectured, he shared in detail what to pursue and what to avoid in the name and honor of Pulmuone.

What Pulmuone must always focus on is love for its neighbors and respect for life.
Based on such principles, Pulmuone strives to fulfill its social roles and responsibilities with sincerity. By pursuing the well-being of humanity and the sustainability of the Earth's environment, we seek to realize LOHAS Living and become a sustainable company.

Tracking everything on its journey from bean farms to your kitchen table! Production History System

Enter the barcode numbers printed on Pulmuone tofu or bean sprouts product packages into the Production History Information System on our website, and you will be able to directly verify the entire process from the raw material storage phase (e.g., the origin of the beans, their varieties, date of purchase, etc.) all the way through to manufacturing and distribution. Pulmuone created this system to ensure consumers have the right to track and verify their products, for instance, what ingredients were used, as well as how and when the products were made.

A true LOHAS diet can be achieved by following a low GL diet (GL stands for Glycemic Load, which shows the effect of food on the blood sugar level). How can we follow a low GL diet in everyday life? Pulmuone’s lifestyle service company ECMD launched the Smart Kitchen program designed to inform consumers about wholesome foods and healthy eating habits centered on nutritional balance.

Childhood eating habits determine lifetime health conditions

Lifetime health conditions hinge on the eating habits developed in childhood. As such, Pulmuone strongly believes that a major social responsibility of food companies is to actively promote the importance of eating wholesome foods and help consumers acquire good eating habits. Our Wholesome Foods Campaign was initiated in 2010 to inspire children to care about the food they consume (how, by whom, and where it was produced) and help them acquire the knowledge and ability to choose wholesome foods. The campaign received high evaluations from parents and teachers, and its target has been expanded to cover adults. Since 2015, education on LOHAS dietary habits, which mirrors Pulmuone’s LOHAS-centered belief “What is good for our health is good for the environment,” has been provided as a part of the campaign.

Made with a well-designed combination of wholesome ingredients for optimal nutritional balance

Our products are carefully developed to provide optimal nutritional balance and enhance consumers’ health, as evidenced by our muk (traditional jelly-like food made from grains, beans, or nut starch) made from five whole grains and quinoa, non-flour pasta, rice noodles, naengmyeon (thin buckwheat noodles in chilled broth), protein-fortified tofu, and low-sodium kimchi.

An improved labeling system that leaves nothing in the dark

We believe truly wholesome foods have no need to hide behind complicated jargon. We are fully aware of our responsibility to help consumers be in the know and to respect their right to make thoroughly informed decisions. We would be neglecting this responsibility by providing a multitude of complex jargon instead of offering the clearly defined, easy-to-understand ingredients actually contained. This is why we make it a rule to indicate each and every ingredient used so that it can be easily seen, recognized, and understood by all consumers.

For soundhealth and a sound environment

What is good for our health is good for the Earth. We have proposed the LOHAS Dietary Model aimed at helping consumers acquire a health-enhancing lifestyle and conserving the environment at the same time. This model is designed to increase the sustainability of sound health and a sound environment, representing our belief that foods that are good for our health also have a positive impact on our planet.
